What is frontline management?

Frontline management refers to the role of managers who directly supervise employees that are involved in the day-to-day operations of a business. These managers are responsible for overseeing teams, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, addressing employee concerns, and implementing company policies on the ground level. They act as a bridge between upper management and staff, playing a crucial role in operational success and employee engagement. Frontline managers are commonly found in industries like retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality.

Many organizations also provide leadership training and peer support networks to help new managers succeed. By proactively seeking feedback and leveraging available resources, frontline managers can overcome these challenges and drive team success.
