Job description


Department: Front Office
Shift: Various shifts from 7am-10pm
Reports to: Front Office Manager
Job Overview
As an Office Cashier Lead, you will be responsible for the front office's employees, including mentoring, interviewing, performance evaluations, scheduling and assigning duties. You will also be responsible for maintaining the store's brand, ensuring continuous delivery of outstanding customer service, and that your staff also promotes the American Furniture Warehouse culture.
You will coach and oversee the Front Office department with direction from the Front Office Manager to ensure customers are provided fast, friendly and accurate customer service. The Office Cashier Lead will also assist with processing customer transactions and assisting the Sales team with completing orders.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Oversee Front Office employees with leadership from the Front Office Manager.
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring quality employees to meet the needs of business.
  • Help train and mentor new employees and provide continuing education to existing employees.
  • Evaluate employees based on performance metrics.
  • Rent AFW vehicles to our customers, and process financing applications.
  • Perform cash drawer and safe/petty cash audits and report any discrepancies to the AFW Management Team.
  • Ensure all front office staff provide exceptional customer service and assists customers during the check process to the best of their ability.
  • Respond to public address system announcements.
  • Identify and read reports, tickets and UPC labels.
  • Completes customer transactions accurately and efficiently at point-of-sale.
  • Executes consistent operational and selling processes.
  • Educates customers and employees on our Satisfaction Guaranteed return policy.
  • Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Take ownership to enhance customer experience.
  • Partners with all other departments to ensure customers' needs are met and processes are completed per policy.
  • Enforcement of all company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties assigned by the Front Office Manager, Store/Regional/or Operations Manager as directed.
  • Requires recognizing, identifying and using merchandise and necessary reports.

This position supervises staff of 5 - 10 employees any given time. This position is supervised directly by the Front Office Manager depending on location.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma/GED preferred. At least 1-2 years of related experience in cash handling or related role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation
  • Pay rate: Starting at $18/hour and up! Depending on Experience
    • Pay Grade B: $16.00 - $29.71

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at various facilities.
  • Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
  • Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours daily.
  • Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Able to work in various environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.
