Job Description

The Compositing - Flame Artist is responsible for creating photorealistic final images by seamlessly integrating 2D and 3D elements into a shot. Working closely with the supervision and production teams, as well as other departments, they complete all compositing stages required to meet Rodeo FX's visual and technical standards. Their expertise, attention to detail and creativity directly contribute to the quality of the project's deliverables.

Mastery of the Craft

  • Composite simple to complex shots, including tracking, keying, integration, roto and colour correction.
  • Ensure the artistic and technical consistency of all elements within each shot.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and autonomy throughout every stage of the process.
  • Adapt their methods to the specific requirements of the project and the expectations of supervision.

Creative Quality

  • Propose simple and effective visual solutions to enhance each shot.
  • Work closely with supervision and Leads to strengthen the artistic direction.
  • Actively contribute to the team's pursuit of visual excellence.
  • Adjust and balance the elements within a shot to ensure realistic and seamless integration.

Technical Quality

  • Produce clean, optimized work that can be easily shared.
  • Perform thorough quality control before internal or client submissions.
  • Quickly identify and resolve technical issues related to digital compositing.
  • Use the provided tools and templates to ensure the project's technical consistency.

Communication

  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including CG, Layout and FX, to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Communicate clearly with production and supervision regarding progress, risks and blockers.
  • Actively participate in daily reviews and team discussions.
  • Remain calm and professional in all communications, even under pressure.

Qualifications
  • Significant VFX digital compositing experience in a post-production or visual effects studio.
  • Proficiency in Flame is essential; proficiency in Nuke is a major asset.
  • Knowledge of photography principles, including lighting, colour, perspective and reflection.

  • Excellent time management and ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines.
