SUMMARY
The Robot Programmer plays a critical role in supporting the programming, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotic systems and automated machinery. Working on-site at Matrix Design’s facilities or client locations, this technician ensures optimal performance and reliability of automation equipment, contributing directly to manufacturing efficiency and innovation.

  1. SYSTEM INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING
  • Install, configure, and test robotic and automated systems based on engineering specifications.
  • Provide on-site support for equipment installation and commissioning at customer facilities.
  1. SYSTEM SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on robotic equipment and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to robotics, PLCs, and system integration.
  1. PROGRAMMING AND OPTIMIZATION
  • Assist in programming, calibration, and optimization of robotic systems.
  1. DOCUMENTATION, SAFETY, AND COLLABORATION
  • Document work performed, including maintenance logs, troubleshooting steps, and updates to schematics.

  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support automation project

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial robotics and automation systems
  • Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, and robotic programming interfaces (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa)
  • Proficiency in programming industrial vision systems (FANUC, Cognex, Keyence, etc.)
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatic and electrical systems
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking for troubleshooting automation issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
  • Time management and organizational skills for handling multiple projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with robotic systems in a manufacturing or automation environment
  • Experience with robotic integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with risk assessments, safety protocols, and industrial standards
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed
