Job description

The Coding Operations Coordinator, as a key member of the Coding team, will support leadership in planning and implementing activities to optimize and/or support the furtherance of organizational performance goals as it relates to coding. The Coding Operations Coordinator proactively identifies areas of opportunity to improve coding quality through ongoing coding audit results, coder questions, denials information and other feedback; demonstrates attention to detail to minimize coding errors. The Coding Operations Coordinator also maintains professional relationships within the organization to gain an in depth understanding of strategic plans and needs.
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One of the following certifications is required: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
  • Five (5) years of coding experience in a hospital coding setting required. Prior experience with Epic desired.
  • Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT-4, CCI and OCE Edits required.
  • Knowledge of principles of information management to effectively analyze data, solve problems, and make decisions.
  • Training and presentation skills required.
  • Ability to collaborate, build strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Exceptional skill and ability in using verbal and written communications to influence organizational leaders
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects and issues.
  • Detail oriented; Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate innovative and critical thinking skills
