Job description

Primary responsibilities will include
  • Supporting Continuous Improvement efforts to improve plant safety, ergonomics, quality, productivity, and morale
  • Identifying potential Safety and Manufacturing issues, developing creative, custom solutions to address the issues and implementation of these solutions.
  • Uses a variety of automated and handheld tools such as welders, cutting equipment, hoists, grinders, pneumatic tools, and measuring devices to fabricate fixtures consistent with Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Provide fill-in support to the production and material distribution teams as required, based on demand and available resources.
  • Perform basic facility maintenance as directed by Supervisor
  • Provide assembly training as required
  • Develop process documentation through the use of visual aids, written procedures and computer generated documents
  • Maintains the work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
  • Performs other duties as assigned that supports the overall objective of the position

Skills/Experience
  • Minimum 1 year as a permanent PTL Team Member.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial Manufacturing.
  • Must possess strong, problem-solving abilities and the openness to think outside of the box.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Possess basic knowledge of the Safe operation and application of mechanical and fabrication tools and machinery.
  • Working knowledge of simple electrical circuits, mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Possess the capacity to interpret basic Engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to meet assigned task and Project schedules with minimum direct Supervision.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing priorities as required.
  • Flexible to work Overtime as necessary.
