Part-Time Payroll & Bookkeeper
Location: Morris, IL
Position Type: Part-Time
Pay: Starting at $20.00/hour (higher pay may be considered based on experience)
Schedule: Flexible hours. Approximately 10 hours per week to start, with the potential to increase up to 35 hours per week during busy seasons.

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. This position is responsible for managing payroll, bookkeeping functions, tax-related documentation, and day-to-day financial recordkeeping for a variety of business clients. The ideal candidate must have strong QuickBooks experience and be comfortable handling accounting functions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately and timely for multiple clients
  • Manage bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online
  • Prepare and maintain financial records and reports
  • Assist with quarterly payroll tax filings and reporting
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Prepare sales tax returns and related documentation
  • Maintain client files and financial records
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding payroll and bookkeeping matters
  • Support accounting and administrative functions as needed
Required
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online) – REQUIRED
  • Previous payroll and bookkeeping experience
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing and tax reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
  • Experience with sales tax reporting
  • Experience working with multiple business clients
  • Accounting or bookkeeping certification is a plus
