Senior Group Leader, Manufacturing Quality Engineering

We are seeking a Senior Group Leader, Manufacturing Quality Engineering to lead a highly technical, cross-functional quality organization across manufacturing and vehicle systems. This critical leadership role is responsible for driving alignment of quality strategy, ensuring successful product and plant launches, and building a strong, data-driven quality culture across all operations.

This leader will serve as the primary escalation point for manufacturing quality risks and partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, EHS, and Executive Leadership to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality products.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategy
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional Manufacturing Quality Engineering team across multiple domains. Define and execute the manufacturing quality strategy in alignment with business objectives, product roadmap, and launch timelines.
Serve as the primary escalation point for quality risks, systemic issues, and cross-functional concerns while promoting a preventative, data-driven quality culture across all manufacturing operations.

Manufacturing & Launch Support
Ensure quality readiness for new product, process, and plant launches through proactive risk identification and mitigation. Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to ensure robust process capability and control.
Drive containment actions, root cause analysis, and implementation of permanent corrective actions for quality issues impacting production or customers.
Quality Systems & Compliance
Ensure consistent application of automotive quality standards, methodologies, and regulatory requirements across the organization. Maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and other applicable safety and regulatory standards.
Lead audits, internal assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen and sustain the Quality Management System (QMS).

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, EHS, Program Management, and Executive Leadership to drive alignment, resolve issues, and support operational excellence.

Scope of Leadership
Oversee Quality Engineering support across:
Manufacturing Quality Engineering – General Assembly, Body, Chassis, and Propulsion
Manufacturing Quality Engineering – Coatings, E-Coat, and Sealing
Bonding & Adhesives Quality Engineering
Powertrain, Energy, and Drive Systems Quality Engineering
Electrical / Electronic & Software (EE/SW) Quality Engineering
Regulatory & Compliance Quality Engineering
Problem Solving and Quality Training Programs

What You’ll Bring

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years (or equivalent experience). Proven experience leading large, multidisciplinary quality engineering organizations in a manufacturing environment.
Strong background supporting vehicle, system, or plant launches.
Technical Expertise
Deep working knowledge of automotive quality systems and tools, including IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC. Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, or DMAIC.
Leadership Competencies
Strong judgment, executive-level communication, and decision-making capability. Ability to balance technical depth with business priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Track record of influencing cross-functional teams, driving alignment, and leading through complexity and change.

Compensation
Base Salary Range (Annual):
$114,612 – $143,265 – $171,918 USD
Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, location, and overall business considerations.
