Roles & Responsibilities
1.Engineering Drawing & GD&T Interpretation
Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications to understand design intent, tolerances, and functional requirements.
Apply GD&T principles to support manufacturability, inspection planning, and acceptance criteria.
Clarify drawing queries and support engineering change assessments from a manufacturing perspective.
2. Process Planning & Industrialization
Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans for aero engine components.
Define operation sequences, tooling, fixturing, process parameters, and inspection stages.
Ensure processes are robust, repeatable, and compliant with engineering and quality requirements.
3. Inspection Planning & Quality Integration
Create and review inspection plans aligned to drawing characteristics and process risks.
Ensure inspection requirements are embedded into process plans and work instructions.
Support integration of FAI, LAI, and PPAP requirements into manufacturing processes.
4. Shop Floor Support & Execution
Provide day to day shop floor engineering support to ensure correct process execution.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to process capability, tooling, methods, and sequence.
Support first time right manufacturing and drive reduction of rework and scrap.
5. Process Specification Compliance
Interpret and implement process specifications, including special process requirements.
Ensure shop floor activities comply with approved specifications and standards.
Support internal and external audits by demonstrating process compliance.
6. Manufacturing Methods Aero Engine Components
Apply know ledge of aero engine manufacturing methods (machining, fabrication, assembly, special processes).
Support manufacturability and producibility assessments for new and existing parts.
Recommend process improvements to enhance quality, cost, and delivery.
7. Work Instruction & Technical Documentation
Create and maintain Technical Instructions (TI) and Work Instructions (WI) for manufacturing and inspection.
Ensure instructions are clear, standardized, auditable, and user friendly for shop floor execution.
Update documentation to reflect engineering changes and process improvements.
8. APQP / PPAP Support (AS9145)
Support APQP and PPAP activities during new part introduction and process changes.
Prepare manufacturing inputs for PPAP, including process flow, PFMEA, control plans, and capability data.
Interface with quality teams, suppliers, and customers for PPAP readiness and approvals.
9. FAIR / LAIR Support (AS9102 Rev C)
Support preparation and review of FAIR / LAIR from a manufacturing perspective.
Ensure all manufacturing steps and inspection points support full design characteristic verification.
Assist in closure of FAIR observations and implementation of corrective actions.
10. PFMEA & Control Plan Ownership
Develop and maintain PFMEA to identify and mitigate manufacturing process risks.
Create and update Control Plans aligned with PFMEA outputs and process changes.
Drive risk based manufacturing controls and preventive actions.
11. Dimensional Management & Data Capture
Support creation of Dimensional Characteristic Matrices linking design, process, and inspection.
Enable use of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) for dimensional and process data.
Support data driven manufacturing and quality decisions.
12. Inspection Instruments & Measurement Methods
Define and support the use of appropriate inspection instruments for manufacturing operations.
Ensure measurement methods are suitable, repeatable, and aligned with tolerance.
Support shop floor awareness and correct usage of inspection tools.
13. Process Capability & Continuous Improvement
Perform and support process capability studies (Cp / Cpk) using tools such as Minitab.
Analyze variation and recommend actions to improve process stability and capability.

14. Cross Functional Collaboration
