Kimball Medical Solutions is a Medical Device Contract Manufacturer in Indianapolis, IN. This is an onsite position that will report directly to the Molding Engineering Team Lead. We offer 3 weeks of PTO starting your 1st full year in addition to 10 paid holidays. Potential annual profit sharing bonus based on company performance. Position Overview
The mission of the Injection Molding Process Engineer is to develop, implement, and support injection molding processes as well as to verify and drive improvements while meeting goals of quality, cost and delivery for our customers. Quick Summary
The Injection Mold Process Engineer is responsible for the development of injection molding processes, creating detailed manufacturing work instructions, set-up/change over instructions, control plans and testing procedures in support of FDA requirements. In addition, this position supports continuous improvement by performing product/process analysis for quality improvements, cost reductions and improved efficiency. You will help the molding operation to optimize the robust injection molding process to meet our customers' requirements while helping coach, train and guide our molding technicians knowledge and skills.
Basic Background Requirements
This position will require:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience working within a heavily regulated environment
  • Knowledge in a variety of design and production methods as well as materials
  • 3-5 years experience in plastic injection mold processing
  • Ability to manage time and projects while setting and meeting aggressive schedules.

Key Performance Objectives
Short Term: (0 to 3 months)
  • Learn KEIND Quality system requirements
  • Build relationships with key team members
  • Assist in validation efforts for commissioning injection mold tools and equipment
  • Maintain customer specific system documentation in support of FDA regulatory requirements
  • Learn and adopt Kimball Electronics philosophies and culture

Midterm: (3 to 6 months)
  • Accountable for the development of Injection Molding processes & procedures
  • Work with project managers in the execution of project plans
  • Assist with development of new tooling and maintenance of existing tooling
  • Accountable for systematically addressing tooling and process related issues

Long term: (6 to 12 months)
  • Ability to obtain Master Molder II credentials
  • Accountable for the training of injection molding personnel
  • Accountable for the validation of mold tools & equipment
  • Coordinate validation efforts with project managers, tool manufacturers and customers
