Job description

Job Title: VB.NET & WinForms Developer

Location: San Diego, CA

Duration: Permanent

This position is open to W-2 CANDIDATES ONLY who are authorized to work in the USA WITHOUT SPONSORSHIP. Corp to Corp and H-1B transfers are NOT considered for this position.

Description: We're seeking a skilled developer to enhance and modernize our core .NET 4.7-based production workflow system, which is scaling rapidly. The role focuses heavily on VB.NET (80%) for the first 1 2 years, with responsibilities split between server-side (70%) and client-side (30%) development. You'll help automate key processes, build new workflows, and integrate technologies like PDF parsers into a high-volume, high-availability environment.

Duties:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance our client/server production workflow system primarily using VB.NET with some C#
  • Design and implement new automation workflows to streamline existing manual processes
  • Integrate new software components, such as PDF parsers, into the production workflow
  • Work with SQL databases to run queries, retrieve data, and manage configuration elements
  • Read and transform client data from various sources into a normalized format
  • Develop and maintain parsers to extract data and integrate it with document composition tools using custom data mappings (ETL processes)
  • Contribute to the generation of various output formats (PDF, print/mail)
  • Participate in the development of electronic document delivery workflows
  • Contribute to the generation of metadata and features such as SMS notifications and member viewing components
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a VB.NET developer in a client/server environment
  • Experience with data transformation and normalization processes
  • Experience with integrating different software systems and workflows
  • Familiarity with UI components within legacy platforms and plugin workflows
  • Familiarity with SQL and the ability to write and execute basic SQL queries (e.g., SELECT statements)
  • Understanding of the .NET Framework (specifically versions 4.61 and 4.7)
  • A strong understanding of production workflow systems and data processing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a 1 team
