Job description

The Air Freight Agent will play a key role in coordinating air freight operations related to perishable and temperature-controlled cargo. This position involves managing the logistics of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Air Freight Agent will also collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and compliant cargo movement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the booking and documentation of incoming and outgoing air freight shipments, ensuring compliance with temperature control and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the status of shipments, proactively addressing delays, disruptions, or issues related to temperature control.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and external partners to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, including airway bills, customs documentation, and temperature logs.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries promptly and addressing customer needs efficiently.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
  • Track and trace cargo to ensure timely delivery, reporting discrepancies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and trucking teams to coordinate cargo handling and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct routine administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and updating shipment records in the system.
  • Support the Air Freight Manager with daily operational tasks as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in air freight, logistics, or related roles, preferably in the perishable/temperature control sector.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English (Bilingual is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
