Position Summary
Wind Creek Event Center is seeking a part-time Box Office Ticket Seller to join its Ticketing Department. Reporting to the Box Office Manager/Assistant Manager, this position provides friendly and efficient customer service while assisting guests with ticket purchases, event information, and general inquiries. The Box Office Seller processes ticket transactions accurately, handles payments responsibly, and helps create a positive guest experience while supporting more than 125 concerts, comedy performances, sporting events, and special events annually.
This is a flexible, as-needed position, with hours varying based on the event calendar, ticket onsales, and Box Office needs rather than a traditional recurring weekly schedule. Box Office Sellers typically work approximately 30-40 hours per month, although hours may vary based on event calendar.
The position is particularly well suited for individuals seeking supplemental employment around an existing work schedule, including those already working at other live entertainment, hospitality, or similar organizations. It is also a great opportunity for individuals simply looking to pick up occasional hours, earn additional income, and enjoy working in a live entertainment environment. Key Areas of Responsibility
Leadership & Team Development
• Work collaboratively with Box Office leadership and fellow team members to support efficient daily operations and a positive team environment.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to build knowledge of ticketing systems, sales procedures, venue policies, and customer service standards.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional guest service in all interactions.
• Develop knowledge of ticket sales, premium seating, suite sales, group sales, gift card sales, and other available Wind Creek Event Center products and services.
Ticketing & Sales Operations
• Sell tickets for Wind Creek Event Center concerts, comedy performances, sporting events, and special events through the Box Office and other authorized sales channels.
• Assist guests with ticket purchases, seating options, event information, pricing, accessible seating, and general ticketing questions.
• Process ticket transactions accurately using Ticketmaster and other applicable ticketing systems.
• Support ticket sales for premium seating, suites, group sales, and Wind Creek Event Center gift cards.
• Maintain knowledge of upcoming events, onsales, presales, ticket offers, venue policies, and other information necessary to assist guests.
• Provide accurate information regarding available seating, ticket prices, fees, event times, venue policies, and other event-related details.
• Assist Box Office leadership with ticketing and administrative activities as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
• Accurately process cash, credit card, gift card, and other approved forms of payment.
• Maintain accountability for assigned cash banks and ticket transactions throughout each shift.
• Complete required end-of-shift reconciliation and closing procedures in accordance with Box Office policies.
• Maintain accurate ticketing, sales, and transaction records.
• Follow established cash-handling procedures and internal financial controls.
Guest Experience
• Deliver exceptional guest service by resolving escalated customer concerns promptly and professionally.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, sales performance, and the overall guest experience.
Qualifications
Required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous ticketing experience is not required. Candidates new to the live entertainment industry as well as experienced Box Office Sellers are encouraged to apply.
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working with computers, point-of-sale systems, and learning new technology.
• Ability to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Ability to work daytime and/or evening hours on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed based on the event and Box Office schedule.
• Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings.
Preferred
• Previous experience in ticket sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, entertainment, or another customer-facing environment.
• Experience with Ticketmaster Host, TM1 Sales, or another ticketing platform is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in a concert venue, casino entertainment venue, arena, theater, performing arts center, or other live entertainment environment.
• Experience with premium seating, suite sales, group sales, or gift card sales is a plus.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This is a part-time non exempt management position operating in a fast-paced live entertainment environment. Regular daytime business hours are expected for planning, administration, event preparation, sales initiatives, and staff leadership and daily box office sales. The position also requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days based on the performance calendar.
The Assistant Manager is expected to maintain a visible leadership presence during concerts, comedy performances, sporting events, and special events while supporting the Box Office team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in both office and event environments, including stairs, seating , and outlet areas.
• Ability to use computers, telephones, and standard office equipment for extended periods.
