Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Manufacturing Project Manager

Location: St. Charles, MO

Position Summary: As Manufacturing Project Manager, you will be responsible for all activities associated with projects after receipt of a purchase order. This includes but is not limited to all project communication internally and externally, project scope changes, project finances, and schedule creation and management for both engineering and production.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Schedule work and deadlines for engineering and production.
  • Coordinate client approvals and submissions to maintain schedule.
  • Identify and submit all internal and/or customer driven scope changes to sales and estimating.
  • Track labor and material while actively managing cost to maintain budget.
  • Consistently monitor project schedules and budgets for potential discrepancies, promptly identifying issues and providing actional recommendations for necessary corrections.
  • Effectively manage and accomplish all tasks across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and technical degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of project engineering or project management experience in a construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.
  • Experience with scheduling software and knowledge of critical path management.
  • Ability to interact within both engineering and operations environments with both clients and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Ability to learn multiple disciplines. Projects may include steel structures, aluminum structures, hydraulics, visual elements, electrical and controls, mobile structures, etc.
  • Must demonstrate a consistent and stable work history, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and manage project at remote locations, as needed, is required (~3%)
    • Valid state driver's license and a clean driving record.
    • Demonstrate safe driving practices while driving company vehicles or when driving your personal vehicle on behalf of the company.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing, and walking in office, warehouse and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to climb in and out of trailers, scaffolding and up ladders.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and position self to move about the office, as needed.
  • Required to stand, walk, and use fingers and hands.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close and/or color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ascend/descend on ladders and move around within custom mobile solutions.
  • Must be able to position self to move, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals, distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection during specific tasks.
