Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Business Development and Technology Transfer leads strategic initiatives that drive innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth within a cGMP-compliant cosmetics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the Technical Transfer function, ensuring the seamless, compliant, and timely transition of new products and processes from development through commercial manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Technical Transfer function to ensure efficient, compliant, and on-time execution of new product launches, scale-ups, and process transfers in alignment with cGMP, FDA, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives that enhance operational performance, reduce costs, improve quality, and foster innovation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to identify and deliver new business opportunities, including new product introductions, process improvements, and customer-driven projects.
  • Ensure rigorous risk assessments, change control practices, and regulatory compliance for all new product and process implementations.
  • Champion continuous improvement by developing and delivering training on lean methodologies, technical transfer best practices, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation to support successful project execution and business growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and regulatory bodies to support long-term success and credibility.
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports on project status, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a visible and influential leader by coaching, mentoring, and developing team members and fostering a high-performance culture.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical/scientificย field required; Masterโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a cGMP-regulated cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or related industry.
  • Demonstrated success in technical transfer, new product introduction, and continuous improvement leadership.
  • Proven leadership, change management, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
