Job Description SummaryOrganization's Summary Statement:
The Coordinator assumes a high level of responsibility related to the triage of intellectual
Property disclosures from university researchers, including managing the disclosures
submission process, providing guidance to inventors on the process, and compliance reporting.
This position will coordinate actions related to inventions, including intellectual property protection, marketing, licensing, and finance. Under the supervision of the Technology Transfer Manager, the Coordinator will also provide support for the daily business operations of UM Ventures.
Physical Demands:
Sedentary work performed in a normal office environment; exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Ability to attend meetings both on and off campus. Spending long hours in front of a computer screen.
Preferences:
Strongly preferred: 3 years of administrative/intellectual property support experience
Preferred: technology transfer, law firm, research support experience
Licenses/ Certifications: N/AMinimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional administrative or coordinator experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of research commercialization, intellectual property protection procedures, or invention disclosure process. Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.Ability to navigate through various databases.Additional Job Details
