Job description


We are seeking a Structural Project Manager with strong experience supporting industrial and mixed-use high-rise building projects. This role will focus on structural design, project coordination, client interaction, field support, and oversight of structural drawings and deliverables.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel framing and connection design, mild reinforcing and post-tensioned concrete design, masonry design, and shallow, mat, and deep foundation design.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design efforts for industrial, commercial, and mixed-use high-rise building projects.

• Design shallow and deep foundation systems, including spread footings, mat foundations, deep foundations, underground concrete vaults, tunnels, and slab reinforcement for various loading conditions.

• Design steel structures including buildings, additions, access platforms, ladder and stair details, trusses, two-legged bents, and four-legged support towers.

• Design structural systems involving steel framing, masonry, mild reinforced concrete, and post-tensioned concrete.

• Develop structural connection designs, including unique or custom connections caused by field interferences.

• Calculate structural loads and design members based on project demands, code requirements, and constructability.

• Verify field conditions, review constructability, and assist in resolving design or construction-related issues during field execution.

• Interpret and design from a variety of domestic and international structural building codes.

• Prepare structural reports, calculations, designs, drawings, and project documentation.

• Review RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, and updated design documents for accuracy.

• Redline drawings for Revit Designers and coordinate revisions through final submittal.

• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and internal project teams.

• Provide technical direction and mentorship to less experienced structural engineers and designers.


Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• Licensed Professional Engineer required.

• 10+ years of structural engineering experience.

• Experience with industrial and mixed-use high-rise building projects.

• Strong background in steel framing and structural connection design.

• Experience with mild reinforcing and post-tensioned concrete design.

• Experience with masonry design.

• Experience designing spread footings, mat foundations, and deep foundation systems.

• Ability to manage structural design responsibilities while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.


Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting projects from concept design through construction.

• Experience reviewing field conditions and resolving constructability issues.

• Experience coordinating structural drawings and models with Revit Designers.

• Experience designing structural systems under domestic and international building codes.

• Experience with industrial facilities, commercial buildings, high-rise structures, access platforms, support towers, and specialty structural framing.
