Job description

We're looking to grow our bench of freelance mid-level Copywriters with 4-5 years of experience creating bold, social-first content and culturally relevant concepts. We're looking for someone deeply tapped into internet culture, social trends and platform behaviors - someone who instinctively knows what grabs attention, sparks engagement and earns a spot in the group chat.
This person should have experience working within a creative, earned or social agency environment and feel confident developing content for consumer and tech brands. The ideal candidate is equal parts strong writer, creative thinker and culturally online person who can seamlessly jump between trend-driven reactive content and larger campaign ideas.
What You'll Do
  • Concept and write social-first creative ideas across TikTok, Instagram, X, Threads and emerging platforms
  • Develop monthly content calendars and other social-first deliverables across multiple social and creative clients
  • Write social captions, scripts, hooks, asset copy and campaign concepts
  • Contribute to reactive and trendjacking content opportunities in real time
  • Collaborate closely with strategists, designers, editors and creative leads to bring ideas to life
  • Participate in brainstorms and contribute culturally relevant, platform-native thinking
  • Help shape brand voices that feel distinct, modern and social-native
  • Balance quick-turn reactive content with larger campaign and content calendar thinking
  • Present ideas clearly and confidently internally while incorporating feedback from both internal teams and clients
What We're Looking For
  • 4-5 years of copywriting experience within an agency, creative studio, social team or brand environment
  • Experience working on consumer brands across food/bev, lifestyle, sports, tech and/or beauty
  • Agency background within a creative, earned or social-first environment strongly preferred
  • Strong portfolio showcasing social-first copywriting and concepting work
  • Deep understanding of internet culture, trends, memes and platform best practices
  • Ability to write in different brand voices and tones
  • Experience concepting short-form video and creator/influencer-led content
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across disciplines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
What Success Looks Like
  • Ability to independently generate engaging, on-brand social concepts for clients across the consumer and tech space
  • Strong fluency across social platforms, trends and emerging internet culture
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams and creatives
  • Can confidently step into existing accounts and operate with minimal oversight while maintaining strong creative quality and attention to detail
