Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Flexographic Printing Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain flexographic printing equipment. This position is responsible for producing high-quality printed materials while meeting production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Recent hands-on flexographic printing experience is required. Candidates must have experience operating Mark Andy, Domino, or similar roll-fed printing equipment.

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday: 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 6:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Occasional mandatory overtime may require employees to begin work at 5:00 a.m. or, in rare cases, 4:00 a.m.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to work these early-start overtime hours when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate flexographic printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Review job tickets, artwork, color requirements, material specifications, and production instructions before beginning each job.
  • Install printing plates, cylinders, anilox rolls, dies, and other press components.
  • Load and unload rolls of paper, film, labels, or other printing materials.
  • Set and monitor web tension, registration, impression, press speed, and ink flow.
  • Perform roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet printing operations.
  • Mix, match, and adjust inks to achieve the required colors and print quality.
  • Monitor color consistency, registration, barcodes, copy, coating, and overall print appearance throughout production runs.
  • Inspect finished products and perform required quality checks to ensure they meet customer specifications.
  • Make press adjustments to correct registration, color, tension, print defects, and other production issues.
  • Complete press changeovers, material changes, and job setups efficiently to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and printing-related problems during production.
  • Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on printing equipment.
  • Accurately document production output, material usage, waste, downtime, and quality results.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements.
  • Communicate production or quality concerns to supervisors and appropriate departments.
  • Assist with training less-experienced press operators or helpers when needed.
  • Meet established production, efficiency, waste, and quality goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Recent flexographic printing press experience is required.
  • Experience operating Mark Andy, Domino, or similar flexographic printing equipment.
  • Previous roll-printing or roll-to-roll printing experience.
  • Knowledge of flexographic press setup, registration, web tension, ink control, and color matching.
  • Ability to read and understand job tickets, work instructions, measurements, and quality specifications.
  • Experience identifying print defects and making the necessary press adjustments.
  • Ability to use basic measuring and quality-inspection tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift rolls, materials, or supplies as required.
  • Availability to work occasional mandatory overtime, including early start times of 5:00 a.m. or, rarely, 4:00 a.m.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience printing pressure-sensitive labels, flexible packaging, tags, or similar roll-fed products.
  • Experience with die-cutting, laminating, coating, varnishing, or UV-curing systems.
  • Familiarity with color-matching systems, viscosity controls, inspection systems, and barcode verification.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced printing or manufacturing environment.
