  • Job Title: Flexographic Printing Press Operator

  • Department: Production

  • Reports To: Production Team Lead and Operations Manager

  • Schedule: M-TH 6:00amโ€“2:30pm | Fri 6:00amโ€“10:00am


Summary

The Press Operator utilizes flexographic printing presses to manufacture custom products for the medical and industrial industries. You will produce products based on specific design specifications and hold responsibility for product quality, scrap rates, and efficiency. This role includes performing routine preventative maintenance and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.


Essential Functions amp; Responsibilities
  • Production Management: Review and follow the daily production schedule in the ERP system (LabelTraxx).

  • Setup amp; Operation: Efficiently set up the press to match customer specifications; read job specs, drawings, and web paths.

  • Technical Tasks: Mount print plates, set up and insert rotary dies, and splice roll material.

  • Quality Control: Adjust speed, tension, and alignment to ensure quality; perform and document inspections to meet ISO13485 standards and engineering specs.

  • Finishing: Attach and operate finishing equipment; complete final inspection paperwork and job-related documentation.

  • Data Entry: Track time and materials by entering data into LabelTraxx.

  • Maintenance: Wash up presses efficiently to minimize downtime; perform daily, weekly, and quarterly preventative maintenance.

  • Workflow: Review press-ready pallets before runs to ensure all required items are present.


Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of flexographic operations, rotary die cutting, and mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience: Proven experience in anilox roller selection, plate mounting, and ink mixing/color matching.

  • Precision: High attention to detail and quality consciousness.

  • Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure; must be able to read a ruler and convert fractions to decimals quickly.

  • Communication: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job specifications and drawings.

  • Compliance: Ability to work within a strictly regulated ISO13485 environment.

  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or in a team, and excellent punctuality.

Physical Demands amp; Work Environment
  • Physical Activity: Continuous standing with occasional awkward positioning; frequent walking, reaching, and climbing.

  • Lifting: Regularly lift up to 25 lbs; frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs (with assistance of lifts).

  • Vision: Must have excellent color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Environment: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise levels. Occasional exposure to cleaning solvents, fumes, or airborne particles.
