Job description

For a decade, this New York design and strategy studio has built a roster spanning venture capital, private equity, AI and defence-tech alongside consumer, fashion and culture brands – quietly, without marketing itself, at unusually strong margins.

The Role

Leading the design practice as Executive Creative Director, you’ll sit as the fourth member of the executive team and play an active part in new business. setting the creative standard across all design output from identity, positioning and tone of voice through to packaging and websites. Directing reviews, kickoffs and client presentations, and contributing hands‑on where it counts, as well as managing a team of three designers, plus a freelance bench.

The Founder is explicit that nothing about how the studio designs, pitches or operates is precious. This is a genuine blank canvas – the chance to build a design business with your fingerprints on it, backed by established infrastructure and no personal financial risk.

The Package
  • $300,000 – $350,000
  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the office
  • Uncapped new-business incentive
  • Year-end bonus
The Person

You’re a design leader with 15+ years behind you, likely a Creative or Design Director at a respected independent or network studio. You’re deep in brand identity and strategy, and equally at home in technical B2B categories and culture brands.

You carry your own book of business or a freelance practice you can bring in-house. You may have considered building your own studio – this is the version of that without the risk.
