Overview
Theย Director, Mediaย Businessย Operationswill be a solution-oriented business partner tothe Razorfishย media team.The candidate will be responsible for media andย businessย operations,ย with potential to supportย integrationย ofย multiple parties within theย media team and theย business operations support, staffing support and business development/proposal support along with generalย process improvements.ย We are looking for a leader withย operationalย expertise in the fields ofย project management combined withย media performance management and measurement.ย
The ideal candidate is a dot connector, has an analytic mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and track multiple projects simultaneously. They should be proactive, resourceful, agile, and a creative problem solver. They will foster team relationships and partner with the client to work through process changes, escalations, and forward-thinking ideas.ย
Responsibilities
BUSINESS OPERATIONS SUPPORTย
- Liaise with the Media Leadershipย Teamย to document & communicate account executional metrics, risks, issues, and dependenciesย
- Partner with media finance leadership to ensure financial health tracking of media portfolio (margin, revenue, etc..)ย
- Partner withย Staffing/Resource Management,ย Recruiting and Talent teams toย ensure appropriate teamย supportย across all media accountsย
- Support Staffing negotiations between accountsย
- Partner with media leadership, business development and commercials teams to shape commercial deals in response to media RFPsย
- Document scope assumptions and develop staff plans to support media proposalsย
- Shape approaches and create meaningful views of scope across different media services and capabilities;ย
- Support development of SOW in partnership with media & data leadershipย
- Support approval and review process forย other legalย documents (MSA, PSA, DPA, etc...)ย
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCEย
- Help build and continue to optimize the paid media process to further streamline and deliver operational excellence to the agency teams and the client.ย
- Participate as an active leader in the agency's development of aย framework and build a bespoke media operations team in support of client operational excellence.ย
- Drive process adoption, optimization, maintain level of integrity in an environment that has high urgency and is outcomes oriented.ย
- Execute routine process and data quality checks to ensure accuracy and optimal efficiency whilst re-inventing processes as needed.ย
- Create training materials to document processes and instill best practices across teamsย
LEADERSHIPย
- Foster a collaborative culture, develop talentย including mentorshipย and maintain strong stakeholder relationshipsย
- Liaise across all disciplines and business leaders for financial operations, legal matters, and other areas of media operations and compliance.ย
- Candidate must be able to work closely with senior agency leadership, cross diciplineย and account leadership (digital & non-digital) to provide strategicย Operationsย & Deliveryย direction to all account teams (including but not limited to pricing, scope & deliverable alignment, resource alignment, product development, new business, etc.)ย
Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience, preferred in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Communications/Advertising.ย
- Ideal candidate has media or advertising agency experience and understands the inner workings of the agency model.ย
- 9+ years of overall industry experience withย 5+ years in mediaย agency settingย withinย anย Advertising agencyย
- Financial acumen within the media expertise.ย
- Comfortable working with and organizingย large data sets.ย
- Proven capabilities leading projects from conception to implementation.ย
- Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent projects.ย
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire and interact with all levels of staff.ย
- Comfortable and effective presenter, strong interpersonal and communication skills.ย
- Organized, detail-oriented, obsessed with accuracy and good with time management.ย
- Superior critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.ย
- Experienced Microsoft Office skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).ย

Compensation Range: USD $121,315.00 - USD $166,000.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
