As a Foundry Leadperson, you will play a key role in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of assigned shifts within the foundry, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met. Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of personnel in the foundry, maintenance, and sandblast departments during assigned shifts.
  • Oversee pre-production shift preparations, including setup and preparation of melting units and casting machines.
  • Monitor metals inventory and assist with production scheduling for foundry operations.
  • Ensure efficient department operations focused on productivity, cost control, and safety.
  • Identify and address procedural issues, collaborating with the foundry foreman to implement corrective actions.
  • Train and develop team members in proper foundry techniques and safety practices.
  • Recommend improvements to foundry operations, including cost reduction, quality enhancement, and safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities with supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team-based projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including working independently and overtime as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in melt and casting operations within a centrifugal foundry environment.
  • Prior experience in training or developing personnel is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of foundry operations, including use of operation manuals and relevant programs (D.I., Ferrite, foundry weight/material programs).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills for safe and efficient team training.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, reach, and lift up to 75 pounds; operate machinery and equipment as required.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety procedures.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to high noise levels and airborne particles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes with metatarsal guards, and hearing protection.
