Director of Brand & Comms (US)

Reindeer, Inc

New York, NY • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 8 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Own and develop the company's brand positioning, voice, and brand system across all campaigns, channels, and touchpoints.

  • Create and execute brand campaigns, including conceptualization, asset development, and channel-specific presentation.

  • Manage Reindeer's messaging, story angles, and talking points for press, collaborate with PR agencies, and oversee social media presence and content strategy.

Job description

We're building an agentic AI platform that helps enterprises transform complex business workflows into AI-powered operations. We work with leading global companies to identify high-value workflows, deploy AI agents into real business environments, and help organizations move from experimentation to measurable enterprise impact.
We believe AI adoption inside the enterprise isn't just a technology challenge. It requires business context, workflow understanding, change management, trust, ownership, and a clear path to value. That's where this role comes in.
We're a well-funded, early-stage startup, hiring our Director of Brand & Communications to build and own our brand and narrative function from the ground up. This role is ideal for a hands-on, strategic operator who thrives in early-stage environments, is comfortable creating structure where none exists, and works closely with our founders to define how Reindeer shows up in the world.
You will own brand and communications end to end, from positioning and narrative through press, founder visibility, and owned content. You will also build the function itself: the team, the systems, and the standard for how we show up everywhere that matters.
We have a product we believe in and a clear shot at owning a category before anyone else defines it. You will shape how the market thinks about us, build the systems that scale that story, and own our brand and reputation as the proof you're winning.
Your Impact
Brand & Narrative Strategy
  • Own Reindeer's positioning and voice, and turn it into a brand system that scales across every campaign, channel, and touchpoint
  • Conceive and run brand campaigns, from the big idea to the assets to how it shows up across every channel
  • Set the editorial vision and voice guidelines that keep every piece of content on-brand as we scale

Communications & Press Narrative
  • Own how Reindeer sounds to the press: the messaging, the story angles, and the talking points behind every pitch and interview
  • Collaborate with our PR agency, who handle media relations and placement, so that earned coverage carries our narrative

Social & Owned Channels
  • Own Reindeer's presence on social channels from strategy through the posts themselves, for both the company and the founders
  • Build the content engine that turns our thinking into a steady, distinct presence people follow

Founder & Executive Visibility
  • Turn our founders into recognizable voices through bylines, podcasts, panels, and the right rooms
  • Ghostwrite, coach, and source the opportunities that keep them visible without eating their time

Team & Function Building
  • Hire and grow the brand and comms function as we scale, setting the standard for how we show up everywhere
  • Report directly into leadership, and partner closely with founders, Sales, and Product on positioning and go-to-market

What It Takes
  • 8+ years in comms, PR, brand, content, editorial or journalism or founder/exec visibility somewhere in there. (Or a portfolio strong enough to make years irrelevant.)
  • A track record of earned media and/or founder thought leadership you can point to: placements you landed, bylines you shaped, voices you built.
  • Existing media instincts and ideally relationships you know what makes a story land and you're comfortable pitching it yourself.
  • A portfolio or writing samples showing range and a distinct voice: positioning you've shaped plus published work (essays, launches, campaigns, coverage) you can say "I made that" about.

Excellent written English and a high editorial standard you hold yourself to.
