Forum Financial Management, LP is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our back-office team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll accounting, and the preparation of accurate financial statements. This is a one-year contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
This individual will be responsible for:
Job Responsibilities & Activities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Perform general cost accounting and maintain the general ledger, including journal entries
• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Assist with the month-end close process, including account analysis and reconciliations
• Conduct periodic budget-to-actual comparisons and investigate basic variances
• Support the implementation of a new GL system by setting up modules, testing functionality and developing training materials for users
• Provide support on quarterly and annual tax filings including preparations of 1099s
Accounting Operations (AP, AR & Cash Management)
• Code and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring expenses are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and collections follow-up
• Reconcile bank accounts, cash disbursements, and other routine financial accounts
• Maintain corporate checking accounts and related financial documentation
• Conduct audits to ensure expenses are being properly entered and tracked
Payroll Accounting & Audit Support
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes
• Prepare and maintain payroll records, reports, and reconciliations
• Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation and maintaining organized financial records
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Excel
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience supporting accounting or back-office operations for an RIA or Broker-Dealer
Compensation
• Competitive salary range of $60,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
