The Formulator sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines including robotic assembly equipment used in the production of the company's product. Responsible for the overall operation of potentially large-scale manufacturing machinery including actions such as feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product from the line. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation results against predetermined tolerances

THE POSITION: NEOGEN is looking for a Formulator to join our Randolph, Wisconsin team. Compensation starts at $21.00 an hour with shift differentials and opportunity for overtime. Our Formulators work with our Manufacturing Supervisors to maximize production output.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Manufacture products according to approved formulas.
  • Maintain accurate batch records and all paperwork required for this position.
  • Operate material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks and barrel handlers.
  • Assist with maintaining organization of warehouse including inventory control.
  • Thoroughly clean manufacturing equipment after each production run.
  • Check all equipment for maintenance issues and cleanliness before starting a new product.
  • Gain a good understanding of the equipment needed to mix the product per formulation.

REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Stamina to work 12 hour shifts 3.5 days per week and overtime as needed on Thursdays and/or Fridays
  • Report to work daily and on-time for scheduled workdays and shift times
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Committed to working and communicating in a team environment
  • Must communicate effectively with others by speaking, reading, and understanding written English and the ability to write legibly in English.
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent or applicable experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience working in a food or feed manufacturing facility for a minimum of six months, and experience with blending or packaging equipment.
