SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:
Concrete form carpenter 1:
The concrete form carpenter 1 will report to the field superintendent and provide support throughout a construction project constructing and filling concrete forms. This person should have general tool knowledge such as how to operate a tool belt, a hammer, tape measurer, speed square, torpedo level, channel locks/pliers, plumb bob, gammon reel, stick rule, nail bag, etc. The person in this position needs to have the ability to be flexible as this position may perform various functions throughout a shift. This candidate also must be comfortable to work outside in the elements. In the summer, it gets hot and in the winter it is cold. Jostin requires all employees to work collaboratively as a team with other Jostin employees and trade partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • The skills to properly align walls
  • The skill to visualize wall layout
  • Install waler brackets
  • Install turnbuckles
  • Establish grade using a laser
  • Set bulk heads
  • Knowledge of the granular fills
  • Set batter boards

Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Ability and desire to listen, learn, and take instruction from others
  • Be a team player along with self-directed ability to work independently
  • Highly self-motivated with strong desire for challenging work, growth, and development
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass motor vehicle review
  • The ability to work irregular hours including weekends when necessary
  • Arrive to work on time (Allow time for parking, gathering PPE, etc.)
  • The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time
  • The ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without getting winded or out of breath
  • The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing
  • Willingness to commute within a 125-mile radius of Cincinnati
  • COVID vaccinations may be required at some job sites

Concrete form carpenter 2:
Concrete form carpenter 2provides support throughout a construction project to include framing, building scaffolding, and constructing and filling concrete. The person in this position needs to have the ability to be flexible as this position may perform various functions throughout a shift. This candidate also must be comfortable to work outside in the elements. In the summer, it gets hot and in the winter it is cold. Jostin requires all employees to work collaboratively as a team with other Jostin employees and trade partners.
Primary Responsibility:
  • Read blueprints
  • Complete pre-layout of footers
  • Place anchor bolts
  • Complete pre-layout of walls
  • Stair forming/layout of stairs
  • Set bulk heads

Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Meet the requirements of a concrete form carpenter 1
  • Preferably 2-3 years' experience
  • Knowledge of commercial construction
  • Ability and desire to listen, learn, and take instruction from others
  • Be a team player along with self-directed ability to work independently
  • Highly self-motivated with strong desire for challenging work, growth, and development
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successfully pass motor vehicle review
  • Work irregular hours including weekends when necessary
  • Arrive to work on time (Allow time for parking, gathering PPE, etc)
  • Work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time
  • Willingness to commute within a 125-mile radius of Cincinnati

Concrete form carpenter 3:
Primary Responsibilities:
• Experienced and skilled in site and lay-out of anchor bolts
• Able to read blueprints and layouts
• Spreading and complete pre-layout of footers
• Forming and layout of stairs and walls
• Operate Total Station / Transit
Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Preferably 3-5+ years' experience
  • Knowledge of commercial and general construction and trades
  • Proper Tools
  • Ability and desire to listen, learn, and take instruction from others
  • Be a team player along with self-directed ability to work independently
  • Highly self-motivated with strong desire for challenging work, growth, and development
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successfully pass a drug screen and motor vehicle review
  • Work irregular hours including weekends when necessary
  • Arrive to work on time (Allow time for parking, gathering PPE, etc)
  • Work in harsh weather conditions for long periods of time
  • Willingness to commute within a 125-mile radius of Cincinnati
