Job description

Here's what you'll be doing:
  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to initiate, plan, design, execute, monitor, and control the health services of the Forest County Potawatomi Tribal Community
  • Plan, direct, implement, and collaborate with all divisions to ensure the systematic and coordinated deliveries of services are seamless to the Community
  • Ensure that Native American culture is infused into Health and Wellness programs
  • Work collaboratively with the Health Advisory Board and the Elder Board to seek input regarding Community needs and satisfaction
  • Manage the Self-Governance Title V Compact that FCPC has with the U.S. Health and Human Services Department utilizing funds that pass through Indian Health Services
  • Ensure the Health & Wellness Center's designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) meets compliance with applicable rules and regulations
  • Direct marketing strategies to optimize patient understanding and utilization of services
  • Develop appropriate financial and programmatic metrics to build accountability, measure results and optimize programs' impacts and appropriate revenue generation
  • Ensure divisional employee effectiveness through recognition, coaching, counseling, skill advancement, performance evaluation, and corrective action. Ensure good leaders become great leaders
  • Ensure all grant funds, contracts and agreements are properly executed
  • Serve as a mentor, coach and positive role model for ethical behavior
  • Represent Forest County Potawatomi at appropriate venues as participant; and often as teacher, presenter, or facilitator
  • Enforce Forest County Potawatomi preference system in all hiring, training, and decisions such that all FCP Tribal members have first preference. Indians have second preference, spouses of tribal members have third preference, and individuals with Potawatomi ancestry or ties have fourth preference, to promote employees to ensure the future and welfare of the next generations.
  • Ensure that qualified Forest County Potawatomi Community members be placed in training positions to manage all tribal departments and enterprises and to facilitate self-reliance and self-governance.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • Master's degree preferred with five (5) years plus or bachelor's Degree with ten (10) years or more experience in senior management of finance, healthcare administration, public health, nursing, or related field
  • Experience in two (2) or more key settings such as clinic based care, hospital, public health, or long term health care preferred
  • Experience with Indian Health Services is desirable
  • Thorough understanding of budgets, strategic planning and oversight of tactical execution
  • Knowledge of regulatory/accrediting organizations such as: JACHAO, NCQA or AAAHC
  • Ability to collaborate with all divisions to ensure coordinated delivery of services to Tribal members and community is seamless
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
  • FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals. Proof of immunizations is required and immunizations/testing provided upon hire.
