FORERUNNER MENTORING PROGRAM

Elementary After School Program Staff (Coach)


BASIC FUNCTION

The K-5 Grade Coach leads a group of students through Forerunner's daily after-school programming. This person should be someone who is able to engage and motivate our elementary guys in the games, lessons, and activities planned for the day. The K-5 Grade Coach will be trained to respond to the needs of our students to ensure our programs are safe, impactful, and fun.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a group of students in daily activities (Bible lessons, Rec time, Homework-help, etc)
  • Follow all policies and procedures for safety and behavior management (actively monitor your group of students and intervene in any behavior or situations that are unsafe or may become unsafe according to Forerunner's policies and procedures)
  • Take responsibility for site stewardship (set-up, clean-up)
  • Assist in planning and facilitating activities and initiatives (Special activities, service projects, etc)
  • Transportation Support (if eligible - assist in the transportation of students from school using Forerunner's vans)
    • Relational Engagement/Discipleship (building up/encouraging students)


    REQUIREMENTS

    • Embodiment of Core Values
    • Available to work 18-22 hours per week between the ranges of 1:30-6:30 Tuesday - Friday
    • Three references with phone numbers and email addresses
    • Successfully pass a drug test and background check
    • Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

    • Ability to lead with enthusiasm and positivity.
    • Ability to use problem-solving skills and make quality decisions.
    • Strong relational skills with an ability to coach and correct in a positive manner.
    • Have positive experience working with children, especially kids from hard places.
