Job description

This is a hybrid internship that requires interns to work in the office a couple of days each week.

The Intern position is intended to provide college students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the field of client accounting services. Interns support financial management engagement teams by assisting with accounts payable and receivable processing, account reconciliations, data transfer and other accounting tasks. This role also assists in clients' month-end close processes including journal entry preparation and basic financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and code client bank and credit card transactions
  • Investigate and resolve transactions lacking sufficient information for accounting entries
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring correct categorization
  • Accurately input financial data generated from various reports into clients' accounting systems
  • Complete month-end account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
  • Utilize automation and cloud-based accounting systems for timely information processing
  • Assist with financial analyses for the month-end close process
  • Support and collaborate with team members, providing client interaction as needed
  • Handle special projects and additional tasks as directed
  • Develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and financial analysis skills
  • Improve understanding of financial statements and key financial metrics
  • Gain exposure to client service teams; interact with team members and RKL Virtual management
  • Develop and improve technology skills (Excel, QBO, Sage Intacct)
