Company: Grove Avenue Associates II LLC Location: Englewood Cliffs, NJ (fully on-site) Position Type: Part-time internship (paid) Duration: Fall 2026 semester (approximately mid-August/early September through mid-December; exact start date flexible for the selected candidate) Hours: 20-25 hours per week Compensation: $17.00 per hour

About the Firm Grove Avenue Associates II LLC is a small accounting practice in Englewood Cliffs that provides personalized and corporate accounting, bookkeeping, and tax services to business and individual clients.

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This hands-on role offers practical exposure to general ledger work, year-end closing processes, and tax-return preparation under the direct supervision of an experienced accounting professional. The intern will receive regular feedback, training, and mentorship. We will coordinate fully with your college Career Development Center so the selected student can earn official academic credit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and reconcile bank and credit-card transactions in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online for multiple business clients
  • Assist with year-end closing procedures that feed into the preparation of business tax returns
  • Enter client data into UltraTax (Thomson Reuters) for individual (Form 1040) and business (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120-S) returns
  • Support day-to-day operations of a small public accounting firm, including client-file organization and related administrative tasks that support client engagements

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at a local College and pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Accounting (sophomores and juniors preferred)
  • Completion of fundamental accounting coursework appropriate to current class standing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, sorting/filtering)
  • Reliable transportation to the Englewood Cliffs office
  • Strong attention to detail, professional demeanor, and willingness to ask questions and accept feedback

Preferred

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or any tax-preparation software
  • Interest in public accounting or tax work
