QUALIFICATIONS:        

The candidate must have earned a high school diploma.

Technology experience or training preferred.

Experience in a school setting is preferred.

TERMS OF 

EMPLOYMENT:              

1.  Work Year:  Ten-month work year.

2.  Salary:  Salary and fringe benefits to be established by the Board of Education.

TITLE OF THE POSITION:

Attendance Secretary

LOCATION OF THE POSITION:

Oak Forest High School

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Principal for Student Services

Dean of Students 

GENERAL DUTIES:

  1. To assist in maintaining high quality services for staff, students, parents, and community members who utilize the services assigned to this position.
  2. To assist immediate supervisor in carrying out the duties assigned to that position.
  3. To strive for positive and collegial public relations with the staff, students, parents and community members.
  4. To maintain confidentiality in all areas assigned to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The candidate must have earned a high school diploma.

Technology experience or training preferred.

Experience in a school setting is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Possess the ability to speak clearly and professionally.
  2. Possess the ability to effectively operate current technology at a proficient level including but not limited to Google Apps, Apple Products, PowerSchool and Microsoft Suite.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to appropriately provide service to patrons.
  4. Possess an acceptable attendance history in prior positions and demonstrate the ability to meet the daily attendance requirements of the designated position.
  5. Possess a successful work history supported by references.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to practice confidentiality with sensitive information.
  7. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and assist in establishing a positive climate in the work environment.
  8. Demonstrate adaptability to district/department changes.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Manage all communication and data related to attendance.
  2. Accurately code attendance in the Student Information System including absences, field trips, medical documentation and tardies.
  3. Receive all phone information regarding all day absences, tardies, early dismissals, etc.
  4. Compile state report data.
  5. Manage all tardy related functions.
  6. Manage communication system with parents on attendance issues and concerns.
  7. Perform all clerical duties associated with the office.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Ten-month work year.  Salary and fringe benefits to be established by the Board of Education.
