Job description

Math Teacher (Grades Highschool) | Monroeville, AL 36460Position Description

The Math Teacher develops and implements engaging instructional plans aligned with state standards in an effective and student-centered manner. The teacher creates a classroom environment that promotes learning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and individual growth while maintaining positive relationships with students and effective classroom management practices.

The Math Teacher evaluates student progress, provides timely feedback, and differentiates instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of learners. The teacher collaborates with administrators, counselors, parents, and fellow educators to support student achievement and academic success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Alabama state standards
  • Deliver engaging mathematics instruction to assigned grade levels
  • Assess student performance and maintain accurate academic records
  • Differentiate instruction to support varying learning needs and abilities
  • Establish and maintain a positive, structured learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, administrators, and staff
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
  • Support student academic growth and achievement through data-driven instruction
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required
  • Valid Alabama Teaching Certificate with appropriate Mathematics endorsement
  • One year of teaching experience preferred
  • Ability to implement instructional plans and maintain effective classroom management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, administrators, and colleagues
  • Complies with all applicable professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable
  • TB screening, PPD, or chest x-ray, if required
  • Current health certificate, if required by contract or state regulations
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
