Job description

Strategies to Empower People (STEP) is hiring full-time Behavioral Support Staff to provide in-home and community support for adults with physical disabilities as well as Developmental Disabilities including Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, intellectual disabilities, and more.
The adults supported by this position also have regular and consistent behavioral challenges which include physical & verbal aggression, elopement, self-injurious behaviors, and other similar needs.

WHAT IS THE JOB?
Behavioral Support Staff provide hands-on support for our clients who exhibit regular and consistent behaviors. We are looking for empathetic, patient, and creative individuals who can help our clients find new ways to grow their independence while supporting their behavioral needs! This includes support with activities like:
  • Hygiene (showering, toileting, bathing, etc.)
  • Food preparation and meal assistance
  • Developing relationships in their community
  • Money management
  • Personal growth and health management
  • Behavior management
  • And much more!

Qualified applicants:
  • Must be 18+ with a high school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of qualifying behavioral experience (professional experience, i.e. work-related)
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background screen and drug screen at hire
  • May be required to provide CA Driver License, current auto insurance, and maintain a clear Motor Vehicle Record for positions that require driving

The rate of pay for this position ranges from $23 to $27 per hour. Rate offered is determined by an assessment of qualifying professional experience.
SCHEDULE
We hire for a variety of schedules, including Monday-Friday shifts, overnight shifts and weekend shifts. The more open your availability, the more potential to join our team!
LOCATION
Our Behavioral Support Staff provide support in the Greater Sacramento area, which can include South Sacramento, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, and other surrounding areas.
