About the Role
The role offers a base salary plus a commission structure.
Footballco is looking for a Sales Manager based in New York City to help expand our US Region. You will be expected to drive the commercial agenda with agencies and brands in the US. You should have a natural ability to ensure strong coverage of the market and shape compelling propositions to prospective clients. You will use your market knowledge to feed into the positioning of our brands within North America whilst working also closely with our content teams to align commercial opportunities with editorial output. You will grow the sales team in the region and have the opportunity to shape the strategy.
What you'll be doing:
  • Promote Footballco's media, content and strategy propositions to relevant media agency and client contacts with regular calls, meetings and proactive work
  • Secure briefs and work with our Strategy Team to produce first class proposals and win business
  • Manage campaigns, upsell where possible and secure repeat business
  • Identify opportunities and develop media and branded content packages around major soccer tournaments and editorial tentpoles
  • Work in collaboration with our global sales organization to target relevant US-based brand leads and ensure we are communicating with all key decision makers globally, with agencies and clients alike

What you have:
  • Minimum 2-3 years Digital media agency and client-direct sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to make 10+ sales calls per week and a solid reputation in the market as a consultative seller capable of exceeding targets
  • Multiple contacts across the US media agency and client landscape, with an emphasis on New York-based agencies
  • A proven record in driving revenue from new spenders and converting them to repeat spenders
  • Experience in pitching complex branded content partnerships, video, unique ad formats and standard media
  • Preferably: Work within the soccer space, or sports industry at-large, with a working knowledge of the vast US media landscape
