Job description

At Yeager Airport, we operate both The Java Moon Café and The Junction Charleston, offering full menu bars and restaurants as well as a gift shop with a fantastic assortment of souvenirs, snacks and beverages.

This is a tipped position. Great hourly wage + tips = Great Income Potential!!!

Opportunities: Cashiers, Quick Service Line Cooks, and Full Kitchen Staff

Location: West Virginia International Yeager Airport in Charleston, WV

We're looking to hire upbeat, happy and hardworking people for all positions and shifts in our Gift Shop, Café & Bars. Both Full and Part Time availability will be considered. We provide flexible and regular scheduling ensuring your work and personal life is balanced.

We run a fun and exciting operation in a relaxed atmosphere at West Virginia's only international port of entry! All position have the potential to earn tips from our gracious customer base! 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers exceptional guest service through personal contact with guest.
  • Interacts with and assists guests.
  • Answers the telephone and processes register transactions.
  • Ensures compliance of all local, state and federal laws as it pertains to tobacco, alcohol and lottery sales including the carding of all guests in accordance with the above agencies requirements.
  • Assists in receiving and stocking procedures.
  • Unloads merchandise from trucks.
  • Checks in shipments.
  • Stages merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Stocks all areas of the store including the stocking of the beverage coolers.
  • Ensures all items in the store are within date code with newer items being in the back and older items being placed up front.
  • Fills merchandise and down stocks merchandise as needed to fill the store.
  • Ensure all merchandise is recovered and faced to company standards.
  • Ensures proper ticketing and signing of store merchandise.
  • Executes corporate directed prices changes and clearance markdowns.
  • Assists in ensuring data integrity.
  • Ensure the overall store is neat, cleaned, organized and free of debris.
  • Janitorial tasks including the cleaning of floors, windows and all work areas.
  • Ensures all compliance to dress code as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Participates as needed in the bi-annual inventory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the store’s leadership team.
  • Reports to work on time and in uniform for scheduled hours.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read a computer monitor and understand basic POS functions.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Creative thinking.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Food Handling experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting, pushing and pulling boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent kneeling, bending and stooping.
  • Climbing ladders to stock merchandise in high locations.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work a schedule that meets the needs of the business.
