Working in the R&D organization at TA Instruments - Waters LLC.  You will have a unique opportunity to impact a broad range of industries including Electric Cars, 3D Printing, Energy Storage and Batteries, Pharmaceutical, Polymers, etc. developing life changing and innovative products. 

You will contribute to design and develop new measurement technologies for material characterization working with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers. In this role you will support the new product development priority projects and interface across business functions to meet market and customer needs on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Be accountable for integration of mechanical system solutions including electrical and SW interfaces to meet end user needs
  • Concieve and oversee test plans and drive success criteria for system testing to confirm requirments are met
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure business and customer system requirements are met and are well defined
  • Be able to develop concepts to meet the customer requirements
  • Prototype concepts and designs, develop test plans, and communicate results and status clearly
  • Participate and lead design reviews and provide feedback where appropriate in collaboration with multidiscipline team
  • Work with project and product management leads on technical ideation and risk retirement strategies and solutions
  • Work closely with Engineers and cross-functional teams to develop product designs
  • Communicate concerns/suggestions/improvements relating to engineering concerns and product life cycle management
  • Propose and conduct simulations where relevant 
  • Have proven track record in prototyping and knowledge of electronics, coding and system integration needs for successful new product development process
  • Drive definintion of System reliability requirements
 Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree, 5-10 years experience in a development environment

Experience:

  • Prototype design, test and analysis
  • Root cause analysis methodology
  • Extensive experience with 3D modelling (Unigraphics / Solid Works / or Equivalent Tools)
  • PDM and change process experience
  • GD&T knowledge and experience

Skills:

  • Adept at originating and interpreting engineering designs and concepts
  • Strong interpersonal, communications and analytical skills
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
  • Understanding of principles of physics and mechanical engineering disciplines (thermodynamics, structural mechanics and fluid dynamics principles)
  • Experience of furnace and heater design, transducer design and operation, basic controls principles
  • Strong Materials Science knowledgeand familiar with testing principles and techniques 
  • Ability to work independently and in teams to design experiments & test plans, review designs and brainstorm ideas
  • Statistical Data analysis and presentation skills 
  • Well versed in simulations tools for mechanical and thermal problems, preferably Ansys/Matlab 
  • Proven Design for Manufacture experience assembly
  • Hands on experience of fabrication/assembly techniques and working with machinists
