Job description

This position is responsible for the leadership of the Food & Beverage & Consumer & Life Solutions Mechanical and Process discipline (engineering and CAD) in the Northeast Regional Office.  The individual that fills this position will be responsible for oversight of Mechanical, Process, and CAD solutions, coordinating engagement and collaboration with the NER Team and coordinate with the National Mechanical, Process, and CAD Section Managers to propagate core capabilities, solution standards and best practices, delivery processes and coordination that will position the organization for significant growth. This position will have significant influence of the prioritization of annual business objectives related to the Mechanical, Process, and CAD disciplines. Specific areas of responsibility include the following, with other duties as assigned by senior management:

  • Direct most significant programs and utilize role to arrive at best solutions and delivery practices leveraging collaboration across the practice.
  • Organize, lead, and inspire collaboration across the National Food & Beverage & Consumer & Life Solutions Mechanical, Process, and CAD teams, building professional community, and collaboration to advance best practices across the organization.
  • Collaborate across teams to recruit, hire, and develop Mechanical, Process, and CAD capability expectations and Mechanical, Process and CAD leadership throughout the Food & Beverage & Consumer & Life Solutions organization.
  • Develop market differentiating solutions that drive project value to build brand and increase competitiveness.  Advance solution-making best practices across the Global Practice.
  • Expand delivery practices for surety of delivery and continuous improvement of cost through mechanisms like off-shore value centers and design and construction automation.  Take responsibility for benchmarking and tracking those improvements.
  • Serve with the Food & Beverage & Consumer & Life Solutions leadership team to interpret corporate policies, purposes, and goals of organization to staff.
  • Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of the department to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it.
  • Collaborate, manage and assign Mechanical, Process, and CAD work directly for Food & Beverage & Consumer & Life Solutions and extend and collaborate to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff across the Global Practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction or related degree from accredited program and 5 years related professional experience in design and/or project management
  • Previous leadership and/or management experience is preferable.
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
  • Must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
  • Must be expert in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years related professional experience and must have demonstrated experience with providing technical engineering/CAD leadership across the enterprise, major projects/programs/clients, EPC experience and within all GFS business lanes.

  • Candidate must be experienced in managing cultural change and developing organizational capability to improve business results.

  • Professional licensure is strongly preferred.
