  • Position: FOIA Analyst
  • Location: College Park, MD

Job Description
• Provide comprehensive support for the CLIENT Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program, ensuring all activities comply with 5 U.S.C. § 552, DoD Manual 5400.07, and other relevant federal regulations and agency policies.
• Manage and process approximately 40 FOIA requests per month from initial receipt to final disposition, including logging, tracking, and acknowledging requests within statutory timelines.
• Conduct thorough and well-documented searches for records responsive to FOIA requests across various agency offices and electronic systems.
• Analyze and conduct first-level reviews of responsive records to identify information exempt from release under FOIA exemptions, and apply redactions to records as appropriate.
• Draft response letters for Government review and final signature, including final release determinations, "no records" responses, and fee-related communications.
• Maintain the official FOIA case file and a detailed tracking log or database for all requests, documenting key actions and timelines for reporting and compliance purposes.
• Prepare and deliver a Monthly FOIA Status Report detailing request volume, processing times, backlog status, and other key metrics.
Qualifications
• Deep operational knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. § 552) and DoD Manual 5400.07.
• Proven experience identifying FOIA exemptions and applying proper document redactions securely.
• Experience conducting thorough record searches across enterprise electronic systems and offices.
• Strong written communication skills required for drafting formal response letters (e.g., release determinations, fee communications).
• Must hold an active Secret clearance and be a U.S. Citizen.
