Le'Fant is seeking a FOIA analyst to performs mid-level (journeyman) FOIA processing with minimal supervision. This role reviews and interprets FOIA requests conducts or validates searches, applies exemptions, prepares releasable records, and ensures responses meet statutory and VA requirements. This Journeyman also provides technical accuracy, consistency, and support to junior staff while contributing to efficient workflow management and quality FOIA production.
Expertise Required:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of FOIA request processing within the last 36 months.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FOIA exemptions, request types, timelines, and fee categories.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret FOIA requests and determine tasking and search requirements.
  • Skilled in conducting or validating searches for responsive records.
  • Proficient in applying redaction software accurately and documenting exemption decisions.
  • Strong written communication skills for drafting responses and summaries.

Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • All work must be performed within the United States.
  • Must have the ability to pass the Veterans Administration background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to:
    • 1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
    • 1-year check for illegal drug use
    • 3-year check for felony conviction

Experience: Two (2) years FOIA processing experience required within the last 36 months.
Minimum Education Level: Associate degree
Certifications /Training: FOIA-related training preferred [Additional FOIA experience may substitute for formal FOIA training]

Annual salary is just one component of Le'fant's total compensation package. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $ $40,000 to $58,000
