Overview
We have a rare opening for our small “boutique” medical office in Cherry Creek focused on both medical and cosmetic surgery of the eyes and face. We are looking for someone to work back office for our 1 doctor, 2-3 staff member office.
Our practice has a strong reputation and a robust client base. We have been in business for over 20 years and have recently moved to a brand-new office space here in Cherry Creek. Our new team member will be our back office medical assistant.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Back Office Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing support to our medical staff and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical procedures and terminology, with experience in various specialties such as Ophthalmology, plastics, dermatology, ENT, or cosmetic experience is a plus.
Compensation: Negotiable based on experience.
Duties
  • Patient intake, histories, and workups
  • Assist with in-office procedures and patient flow
  • Prep medical chart for provider
  • Record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records
  • Coordinate surgical scheduling and pre/post-operative care. Triage post-surgical patients
  • Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatment
  • Handle referrals, authorizations, and medical records
  • Handle third party medical records request
  • Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests and/or admission
  • Inventory and assess the need for instruments, supplies and equipment while keeping the room stocked
  • Responsible for cleaning room and medical equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance patient care quality
  • Order office/medical supplies
  • EMR proficient, preferred eCW experience
  • Perform coding for medical records and billing purposes
  • Experience
  • Ophthalmology, plastics, dermatology, ENT, facial plastics, or cosmetic surgery preffered
  • Strong EMR/HER skills
  • Excellent multitasking and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and coding practices is essential
  • Familiarity with surgical medical office setting, Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude
