Role Summary
Terrain is growing and opening a new location in Wayland, MA! We are looking for a Design Services Artisan to join this team. Interested? Apply now! We will begin interviewing for this role in June.
A Design Services Artisan has a great eye for art, style, and use of color to create beautiful floral designs. In collaboration with the Design Manager, the Design Services Artisan creates floral and container design projects for weddings and events in-store, off-site, and in private residential settings. They uphold terrain's four promises: to welcome, to inspire, to inform and to appreciate our customer.
Role Responsibilities
Customer Experience
  • Exceeds customer expectations by building genuine, long lasting relationships through personalized attention; makes lasting impressions by upholding terrain aesthetic
  • Understands terrain concepts and partners with client to create a cohesive environment through compelling floral installations and displays
  • Exhibits an understanding of and interest in floral and garden trends in art, style, color, design; translates trends and customer needs into brand appropriate designs

Teamwork + Communication
  • Takes initiative and works productively solo or within a team to achieve design goals; actively participates in daily meetings and shares relevant information regarding floral design projects
  • Builds and maintains productive partnerships with members of the store and design team contributing to a culture of strong communication and teamwork; is open and responsive to feedback
  • Communicates daily with the Design Manager on client consultations, design details, and project updates

Visual + Business Operations
  • Prioritizes projects and monitors progress with timelines while staying within client budget
  • Understands and applies design principles to execute projects with high level of craft; maintains cleanliness and organization of work space
  • Adheres to store's safety standards, reduction of product loss, and upholds all company policy and procedures to support the profitability of the store

Role Qualifications
  • Ability to work weekends with flexible hours to meet the needs of wedding and event design projects on and off-site
  • Experience in floral design preferred
  • Art and design background
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
