Job Title: Floral Design Assistant Trainee

Job Summary
The Floral Design Assistant Trainee supports the floral design team in creating arrangements, maintaining inventory, and preparing orders. This entry-level role is designed for individuals interested in developing skills in floral design, customer service, and shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist floral designers with preparing and assembling arrangements for events, daily orders, and special occasions
  • Process and condition flowers (cutting, hydrating, cleaning stems, removing foliage)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, cooler, and tools
  • Help receive, unpack, and store flower shipments and supplies
  • Support inventory tracking and restocking of floral materials and supplies
  • Prepare vases, containers, ribbons, and decorative elements for use
  • Assist with order packing, labeling, and delivery preparation
  • Take orders by phone and enter in computer
  • Provide basic customer service, including answering questions and taking simple orders
  • Learn proper care, handling, and design techniques under supervision

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)
  • Interest in floral design, horticulture, or creative arts
