Job description

The Floral and Design Manager sets, models and enforces the highest standards in the industry and has end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of floral elements production and organization as well as overall design warehouse management and organization. The incumbent plans, coordinates and collaborates with design department partners to ensure all studio, design and events are set up for success.
Position Responsibilities:
Admin/Management/Design
  • Overall Design Warehouse tidy and cleanliness. Neat, clean and organized.
  • Pre-order floral supplies/event supplies with and through the Lead Designer.
  • Clean, maintain and process stored floral inventory.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of studio and floral elements.
  • Floral maintenance on all PLD/KDD campus.
  • Prep design studio for meetings including bathrooms, snacks, florals and candles.
  • Create floral supplies list.
  • Assist floral market and list creation as needed.
  • Train warehouse staff on floral production.
  • Floral recipe recording as needed.
  • Design florals for KDD/PLD campus as needed.

Pre-Event
  • Prepare containers for designers.
  • Assist floral designers with projects.
  • Pull, pack and label floral event elements and floral tools to be loaded onto trucks.
  • Pack completed florals in preparation to be loaded onto trucks.

Planning
  • Participates in daily studio check in meeting and weekly production meeting.

Event
  • Event installation/assistance as needed.

Post-Event
  • Breakdown and inventory management post event.
  • Manage cleanliness and reorganization of floral design warehouse elements.

Financial
  • Manage monthly expense report and credit card with and through the Design Studio Operations Manager.

Training and Development
  • Train and Manage design and floral production warehouse team with and through Lead Designer, CCO and DOWO.
  • Well versed in safety and injury documentation.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20lbs frequently, as well as sit in meetings.
  • Must be able to read and write in the department's dominant language (English). Proficient communication in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must have the stamina to work 50+ hours a week as needed seasonally.
