Job description

Flooring Estimator – Commercial Flooring
About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Flooring Estimator to join our growing Flooring Division in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience estimating commercial flooring projects, with strong knowledge of wood/hardwood flooring, specialty flooring, and Division 10-related construction products and applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator who wants to play a key role in helping build and grow a flooring operation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate estimates and bids for commercial flooring projects.
Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and project documents.
Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs.
Estimate wood, hardwood, athletic/sports flooring and other commercial flooring systems.
Review Division 9 and Division 10 specifications and identify project requirements.
Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
Develop competitive and accurate proposals.
Coordinate with sales, project management, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, alternates, and potential project risks.
Maintain estimating files, bid logs, pricing information, and project documentation.
Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and project turnover meetings as needed.
Help develop estimating processes and pricing standards for the growing Flooring Division.
Qualifications
Required:
3+ years of commercial flooring estimating experience.
Experience with wood/hardwood flooring.
Ability to read architectural drawings and construction specifications.
Strong understanding of flooring installation methods and materials.
Experience performing quantity takeoffs and labor/material pricing.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience with Division 10 – Specialties.
Athletic/sports flooring experience.
Experience with lockers, gymnasium products, or other specialty construction products.
Experience with MeasureSquare, RFMS, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar estimating software.
Experience estimating school, university, healthcare, commercial, or institutional projects.
Existing relationships with flooring manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, GCs, and installers in the DFW market.

We want someone who understands more than simply measuring square footage. The ideal candidate understands how commercial flooring projects are priced, specified, sold, and installed and can identify potential issues before a project is awarded.
