Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. We are highly focused and, among other efforts, currently operate a dozen active test and/or training ranges for the Army, Air Force and Navy. SA-TECH provides the U. S. Army, other U.S. agencies and allied nations with Aerial Target Flight Services (ATFS), operating and maintaining aerial target flight operations for any directed mission and aerial target flight operations and maintenance services at Fort Bliss, TX; White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM; and other Posts, Camps, and Stations (PCS) in the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside CONUS (OCONUS).


We are currently seeking to hire a Quality Control Specialist (QCS) at WSMR based out of our facilities in Orogrande, NM. As a QCS, you'll develop and implement quality control, ground safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.


Primary functions include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and implement quality control, ground safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Performs audits on work centers, maintenance actions, documentation, equipment, facilities and any items identified in the contract that requires quality control.
  • May be required to generate reports to meet contractual and company requirements.
  • Review, audit and develop processes to identify trends.
  • Provide trend analysis with supporting graphs and documentation.
  • Obtain tech data from appropriate sources and ensure appropriate areas are up to date.
  • Initiate and review all quality reports, i.e., IPQDRs, mishap reports, flight analysis, etc.
  • Assist contract personnel and approved government personnel in resolving problems, developing new tech data or developing processes.
  • May perform maintenance actions as needed to maintain currency for training and inspection completion.
  • Performs duties as Quality Aviation inspector, inspecting work performed by technicians and/or aircraft mechanics, such as modifications, or repairs/overhaul of aircraft and/or aircraft systems.
  • Ensures conformance to service guidance, engineering specifications, and customer requirements and adheres to service guidance, aviation standards, engineering drawings/blueprints, and company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Performs inspections of maintenance tasks, field level modifications, and completed repair tasks on aircraft or uninstalled components.
  • Inspects for airworthiness and quality of aircraft maintenance and alterations.
  • Releases aircraft for flight, as applicable.
  • Documents non-conformance/malfunctions in applicable logbooks or workbooks.
  • Completes non-conformance and corrective action reports as required (NCR).
  • Verify/witness torque and verify completeness of critical safety items (CSI).
  • Provides "OK to Install" for aircraft component parts.
  • Conducts weights and balances tasks as required.
  • Follows/adheres to company FOD SOP and tool control procedures.
  • Performs receiving inspections on DOD or FAA parts.
  • Identifies and communicates continuous improvement opportunities.
  • May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members or assists maintenance leaders.
  • Carries out inspection duties at both domestic and international locations, as assigned.
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours to support projects if needed.
  • Performs other duties and related tasks within scope as assigned by a supervisor.

Work Conditions:

  • Conditions will vary but most work will be accomplished in enclosed buildings.
  • There will be work on the range throughout the year so temperatures will vary over the course of the year.
  • Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within our scope of work.
  • The position will require overtime and weekend work.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., unassisted, to the waist.
  • You must be able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS for short stints.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have completed military aviation maintenance training or aviation maintenance technical school curriculum or possess an FAA-issued A&P license (or equivalent).
  • Understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety programs such as lockout tag out, hazardous materials, shelf life requirements, etc.
  • Experience with Aircraft records management as well as Tool and FOD controls and training programs.
  • Proficiency in AS9100/AS9110 and DCMAI 8210.
  • Knowledge of researching technical orders, processing -engineering requests, and munitions management.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel.
  • Current NM or TX Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD interim Security Clearance at the SECRET level before you can start and a final Secret-level clearance must be achieved within 45 days of start date and maintained throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
