Job description

Account Manager
Central Arkansas • Little Rock Metro Area
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is one of North America's leading environmental services organizations, serving a large portfolio of commercial and industrial customers across multiple regions. This role sits within their Central Arkansas operation, managing and growing an established local book of business.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a relationship-first Account Manager seat stewarding an established portfolio of roughly 500-700 commercial and industrial accounts - not a cold-calling hunter role. You'll own retention, renewals, and account growth for a well-run book of business, serving as the trusted point of contact customers turn to and the internal advocate who gets things done. For someone who thrives on follow-through, problem-solving, and building long-term relationships, this seat offers a base-plus-commission structure with real upside and a direct line to revenue impact.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 500-700 commercial customer accounts
  • Drive retention, satisfaction, and long-term revenue growth through consistent relationship-building
  • Run regular account reviews and proactive outreach to surface needs and get ahead of concerns
  • Own contract renewals, pricing conversations, service upgrades, and retention initiatives
  • Identify and execute upsell/cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer questions, concerns, and service issues
  • Partner with Operations and Customer Service to resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Act as the internal voice of the customer, holding the business accountable to service commitments
  • Support new business development through referrals, networking, and relationship expansion
  • Balance pricing initiatives against retention and profitability goals
  • Maintain accurate account records, activity, and pipeline in Salesforce
  • Prepare proposals, service agreements, and customer communications as needed

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 2+ years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Business Development, Sales, or Customer Retention
  • Experience managing a large portfolio of customer accounts (preferred)
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Proven ability to resolve customer concerns while preserving the relationship
  • Experience working within a CRM platform (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated with excellent follow-through and accountability
  • Comfortable navigating difficult conversations

NICE TO HAVE
  • Background in environmental services / waste industry
  • Experience in route-based, logistics & transportation, or uniform services
  • Facility services or industrial services background
  • Prior customer retention or account management role

WHY THIS ROLE
  • Established, well-run book of business with significant growth potential
  • Base salary plus commission incentives
  • High-visibility seat with direct impact on retention and revenue
  • Path to becoming a trusted long-term partner to your accounts
  • Stable, growing industry with strong advancement opportunities
