Job description

Staff Accountant
FlexTek is partnering with a growing and well-established organization in the North Houston area to identify a Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning general ledger responsibilities, participating in the month-end close process, and contributing to continuous process improvements in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare and post recurring and adjusting journal entries
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records in accordance with IFRS and company policies
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and requested documentation
  • Review and process vendor invoices while serving as backup support for Accounts Payable
  • Process ACH, wire, and check payments as needed
  • Review employee expense reports and company credit card transactions
  • Prepare credit card reconciliations and related journal entries
  • Prepare daily financial and operational reports
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis
  • Help maintain internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong general ledger accounting experience
  • Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Experience supporting audits
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working within an ERP system
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
