The Program:We created the Morningstar Summer Internship Program for college students entering their final year as a first step towards successful, long-term careers in any professional field. Participants will contribute to different aspects of Morningstar's business through ten-week- individual and group projects, learning about the financial services and securities industries, and gaining critical business development skills. Our interns receive hands-on mentoring from their colleagues and the People & Culture team to help them succeed at Morningstar.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Gathering and analyzing financial data for credit ratings

  • Conducting market and industry research

  • Reviewing legal documents related to transactions

  • Assisting in the development of financial models and cash flow engines

  • Supporting the preparation of rating reports, press releases, and commentaries

  • Participating in internal meetings and discussions with external stakeholders

  • Learning and applying DBRS Morningstar's rating methodologies

Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Excel VBA is a plus

  • Familiarity with R or Python is a plus

  • Interest in Structured Finance and credit markets
