POCS - Rahway: Senior Technician, Operations (FLEx Non-Sterile Technician)
Job Description:
Our Manufacturing Operations teams are the people that make our products. We work in the manufacturing plants with a "Safety First, Quality Always" mindset striving for continuous improvement The candidate will be working with process engineers and formulations in oral solid and liquid dosage forms. The position requires someone who can demonstrate good attention to detail and achieve a consistent error-free execution of daily job responsibilities, be able to complete documentation using Good Documentation Practices and be able to identify opportunities for process improvement and employ basic problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities/Duties/skills
  • Work under the guidance of formulator/engineer to operate the equipment
  • Can independently operate production equipment
  • Ability to lift 25 lb as needed
  • Ability to set up, operate and clean the equipment
  • Sanitization of equipment and facilities
  • Flexibility in work hour arrangement as requested
  • Electronic log usage
  • Familiar and can follow cGMP/GDP regulations
  • Must be able to follow SOP's

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel
  • Able to follow/comply with Manufacturing Directions, Standard Operating Procedures, Company/Corporate/Regulatory Policies
  • Ability to demonstrate basic skills in effective time management to meet given deadlines
  • Able to work effectively with team members and show initiative to support others on the team when needed
  • Familiar with equipment used for oral solid and liquid dosage forms
  • Knowledge of Korsch, Gerties, Freud film coater equipment preferred
  • Experienced with granulation, milling, blending, drying, tablet compression, tablet coating, encapsulation, and liquid mixing preferred
  • Strong mechanical skills

Education requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus 3+ years working in a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
