As a Fleet Operations Specialist, you will work under the direction of Fleet and Logistics leadership to coordinate equipment movement and improve fleet visibility across our operations.

Based out of our shop in Spicer, this critical role ensures trucks, equipment, and fleet assets are moved safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. You'll be a key player in supporting dispatch and scheduling, asset compliance and documentation, fleet systems and reporting, and clear communication between drivers and internal departments. Essential Responsibilities: * Coordinate equipment moves in partnership with Fleet, Logistics, Shop, and Field Operations leadership * Develop and maintain equipment movement schedules, dispatch drivers and respond to requests from supervisors related to trucking and equipment needs. * Manage the process for obtaining and tracking permits, licensing, registrations, decals, renewals, inspections, and other asset-related compliance requirements. * Retain accurate records and documentation for fleet assets and compliance requirements. * Use fleet systems, telematics, dispatch records, maintenance data, and Excel-based tools to improve visibility into equipment movement, asset utilization, and operational activity. * Maintain tracking tools, reports, dashboards, and logs related to equipment movement, permits, registrations, inspections, third-party trucking, and fleet activity. * Identify patterns, flag issues, and support practical process improvements. * Support safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and clear communication with drivers, supervisors, vendors, and internal partners. * Escalate concerns or conflicts to Fleet and Logistics leadership as needed. * Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * 3+ years of experience in dispatch or heavy civil industry preferred. * Knowledge of permitting and licensing requirements in construction and trucking industries is preferred. * Valid Driver's License required; CDL (Class A) strongly preferred. * Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) and other business software. * Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills. * Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities. * Analytical and process oriented, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through on schedules, permits, records, and compliance documentation. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the Eastern Dakotas.
